Last Friday, we organized our Impact Learning Circle #2 to discuss about investor relations management pre & post investments!

  • 20+ impact founders attended (and stayed throughout) the session

  • 4.8 / 5.0 of positive feedback and learnt something valuable

Thank you Regina, John, and Pawel for the incredible insights and real stories!

Here are some learnings from the session for those who couldnโ€™t attend the event:

Preparing For Your Next Fundraise (Pre-Investment)

  • Warm referral = effective way to meet investors
โ†’ reach out to your angel investors, friends who work in VCs, or even other founders whoโ€™ve raised external capital

  • Build relationships with investors even before your fundraise
โ†’ investing requires trust, and trust requires time to build. Allocate time to meet investors with genuine intention even before you need to fundraise

  • Follow up with updates
โ†’ after an investor meeting, follow up with what you promised. Share regular company updates with them so they can track your journey

Get Ready To Make The Capital Work (Post-Investment)

  • Communicate your ups & downs to investors
โ†’ If you have good progress, celebrate with your investors. if you struggle with bad progress, TELL your investors (you should do it even so!)

  • Set realistic milestones for your company
โ†’ Founders tend to over-promise and under-deliver as they think they should impress the investors. Quite the opposite, investors prefer realistic-promise and over-deliver founders

  • Be clear with your impact metrics (both quantitative & qualitative)
โ†’ Investors want to see the impact created and growth. Hence, be very clear and honest with your numbers (quantitative) and stories (qualitative, usually case studies)

Hope this is helpful! :)

Feel free to reach out via LinkedIn or email if you have more questions.

P.S. Stay tuned to our next Impact Learning Circle by the end of each month.

P.P.S. Hereโ€™s the video recording for those who interested in the whole session.
