#21 GKC | 💬 A Truthful Conversation On Impact Founders’ Journey

Key Insights & Reflections By Impact Founders In Southeast Asia

Happy Monday! I’m in Jakarta this week, let’s catch up! :)

Welcome 39 new subscribers to Good Karma Club community! Super happy that we are growing everyday, 1 member at a time.

This week, we’ve some GOOD stuff on:

  • 💡 Insights & Reflections from Impact Learning Circle #3

  • 🏆 LendForGood’s new digital lending platform is live

  • 💸 Fully-funded programs by SUSS and Mercedes-Benz

💡 GOOD Insights

Last Friday, Good Karma Club organized our first physical Impact Learning Circle in Jakarta! 🙌🙌🙌

  • 🎉 Audiences appreciated the quality content we curated

  • 🎉 Panels enjoyed the open discussion with audiences

  • 🎉 I particularly loved the candid vibes we held space for

  • 🎉 Special thanks to ERIA for sponsoring the venue and refreshments

Very blessed to have Antoni (KinderCastle), Prastyo (BroilerX), and Ernest (Rekosistem) to share their insights and journeys!

Here are some key learnings from the panel discussion for everyone:

💡 Panel Insights

  1. Have Skin In The Game (If You Don’t 100% Believe In Your Idea, Who Does?)

    • Ernest invested his life savings into the business before any investors joined.

    • Antoni explored various opportunities by investing his money and time before landed on the daycare idea.

  2. Talk To Your Customers (You Need To Know Your Customers Very Well)

    • Prastyo regularly visits the chicken farmers to understand their problems and innovate solutions to cater their needs.

    • Antoni built a feedback system (NPS) to track their customers’ satisfactions.

  3. Balance Your Impact Idealism With Financial Practicality (One Step At A Time To Create Holistic Impact)

    • Ernest believes that, in order to scale the biggest possible impact, you need to build a financially strong business.

    • Antoni started small (& what’s capable within the financial means) by providing training and certification for the caretakers.

💡 My Reflections

  1. Positive Or Negative, It’s Up To My Mind → event crowd was lesser than expected, but turned it into a more meaningful, quality event 🙌

  2. Quality > Quantity → 1 meaningful connection > 100 people event 🤝

  3. Friday + Afternoon = not an ideal event timing in Jakarta, lesson learnt! 😅

P.S. We are looking to host an event in Bali this December, if you are in town / love to explore collaboration, please hit me up!
