1. Bukalapak’s Edukarier: E-commerce to Edtech Pivot
Indonesian e-commerce giant Bukalapak is now pivoting into edtech with it’s new platform launched on November 14, 2024: Edukarier!
It’s an upskilling platform that offers online training courses such as classes for government job placement tests, as well as other courses in different fields (e-commerce, digital media, sustainability, etc.)
It’s unique because it’s tailored into getting accepted to civil service jobs. In Indonesia, becoming a civil servant is the most reliable way for most to get out of poverty.

2. Nibertex Weaves A Greener Future with New Pre-A Round
Nibertex specialises in PFAS-free waterproof breathable membranes for textiles, filtration, healthcare, and professional applications.
Foxmont Capital Partners, ADB Ventures, and family offices invested.
This investment enables Nibertex to scale up its production capacity and expand its R&D efforts, preparing for a Series A round in 2025.
PFAS are increasingly being banned in textiles in the EU, California, and New York, compelling global brands to seek sustainable alternatives.
Nibertex can achieve “superior performance” using safer, compliant chemicals while offering enhanced breathability and durability.

3. SEEDS Capital Fuels SG Deep Tech With 20 New Co-Investors
SEEDS Capital, the investment arm of EnterpriseSG, has appointed 20 new Co-Investment Partners to co-invest in innovative SG-based deep tech startups.
SEEDS & Co-Investment Partners will catalyse at least S$300m in investments over the next three years.
Key sectors include Advanced Manufacturing, Pharmbio / Medtech, Agrifood Tech, Sustainability, SpaceTech and QuantumTech.
SEEDS Capital has deployed S$220M into 160 startups, catalysing >$960M additional funding.
